UGMAA: Music, Art, & Activism Over 60 Years in Los Angeles is an upcoming feature documentary. Through the lens of several 60th anniversary events this film chronicles the Underground Musicians and Artists Association that was founded in 1961 by pianist and composer Horace Tapscott, exploring its role in the Black Arts Movement of Los Angeles, its connections to the civil rights struggle, and the musical journey that continues to this day through the multi-generational band, the Pan Afrikan Peoples Arkestra.
